- 1). Insert the tip of your thin flathead screwdriver in the gap between the front plastic casing of the iPod and the back metal casing.
- 2). Work your way along the sides of the iPod until the two halves come apart. Pry the two halves apart as you move along the sides.
- 3). Place the two halves face-down on a sturdy table or other work surface. Be careful not to pull them too far apart as the two halves are still connected via ribbon cables. Your iPod is now open.
