- 1). Wash the wood paneling with warm water and an oil-based soap. If there is heavy dirt or debris on the walls, wash again.
- 2). Place wood stain onto a lint-free cloth and apply to the paneling one panel at a time. Allow the stain to penetrate to the shade you desire.
- 3). Wipe off excess stain residue with a clean rag.
- 4). Reapply the stain to any missed areas on the walls with a paintbrush.
