    • 1). Place a drop cloth on your table to protect the work surface and lay out all of your supplies on the table.

    • 2). Cut a 12-inch piece of floral wire with wire cutters; this will be used as the wreath hanger. Place the wreath over the center of the wire and wrap the wire around the wreath. With the wire wrapped flush with the wreath, twist the wire about three times to secure it. Create a 2-inch tall loop with the wire, and twist an additional three times at the top to close the loop.

    • 3). Place the wreath flat on the work surface with the hanging loop facing to the back. Glue the gourds to the wreath using your glue gun. Use one large drop of glue for each gourd. Glue the gourds close together, moving them around to find the right placement so that they fit together well without leaving large gaps in between. Glue the gourds around the front and sides of the wreath, leaving the back of the wreath empty.

    • 4). Spray the wreath with clear acrylic matte sealer. Cover the surfaces of all of the gourds, spraying in between cracks to attain even coverage. Allow the wreath to dry for at least 12 hours.

    • 5). Put on your work gloves and cut the dried German statice with scissors into 3-inch pieces. Poke the German statice in between the gourds to fill in gaps. The statice will poke through the straw wreath, and the straw will hold the statice in place.
