- 1). Draft your design. Start by using a pencil and paper and plan out what you would like to draw or write on your sweatshirt.
- 2). Decide where you will glitter paint. The back of the sweatshirt will give you the most room to work with, so it is the best place to draw large images or write long messages. You can also glitter paint designs on the front of the sweatshirt and onto the sleeves.
- 3). Draw your design. Lay the sweatshirt on a flat, clean surface and place a piece of cardboard in the middle of the sweatshirt between the front and back layers. Use chalk to draw the design onto the fabric. If you make a mistake, simply wipe the chalk off.
- 4). Glitter paint over the chalk. If you are planning to paint designs on both the front and back of the sweatshirt, make sure you wait until the first side has completely dried before you flip the sweatshirt over.
- 5). Let the sweatshirt dry. The glitter paint will need between 24 to 48 hours to harden completely, so keep it in a warm, dry place until it dries.
