    • 1). Spray down the deck with a garden hose to make its surface slightly damp.

    • 2). Fill a pump sprayer with the wood cleaner and water in a 1:1 ratio.

    • 3). Spray the cleaner evenly onto the deck, then immediately scrub with a nylon brush.

    • 4). Rinse the grime and cleaner from the deck with a garden hose.

    • 5). Wait 24 hours for the deck to dry completely.

    • 6). Locate cracks or holes in the wood that may be causing major leaks and sand around them with 120-grit sandpaper.

    • 7). Scoop pre-mixed wood filler onto a putty knife and fill the cracks and holes with it. Carefully run the putty knife over the wood filler to level it with the deck. After the filler has dried for five to seven minutes, dampen a rag and swipe it gently over the repairs to clean up loose filler.

    • 8). Wait 24 hours for the repairs to fully cure.

    • 9). Fill a pump sprayer with a wood sealant and spray it evenly over the deck. Make long sweeps with the spray nozzle and overlap each spray slightly so that the entire deck is covered with the sealant evenly. After 48 hours, you can resume use of the deck.
