How to Use Foam on Replacement Windows
- 1). Cut away any loose sheetrock or plastic that covers the gaps around the newly installed window.
- 2). Read all the instructions and warnings on the can of spray foam insulation.
- 3). Put on latex or rubber gloves.
- 4). Screw the extension straw onto the nozzle on top of the spray foam can.
- 5). Hold the can upright, place the end of the nozzle into a crack and pull on the trigger.
- 6). Hold the can in one place until the foam begins to squeeze into the crack.
- 7). Slowly move the nozzle along the crack, filling it half full of the foam insulation. The foam will continue to expand, filling the crack completely.
- 8). Let the foam cure for the length of time recommended on the can.
- 9). Spray additional foam into any remaining cracks.
- 10
Stuff cured foam back into the crack if it extends past the edge of the area that was to be sealed.
