    Filling Cracks

    • 1). Cut away any loose sheetrock or plastic that covers the gaps around the newly installed window.

    • 2). Read all the instructions and warnings on the can of spray foam insulation.

    • 3). Put on latex or rubber gloves.

    • 4). Screw the extension straw onto the nozzle on top of the spray foam can.

    • 5). Hold the can upright, place the end of the nozzle into a crack and pull on the trigger.

    • 6). Hold the can in one place until the foam begins to squeeze into the crack.

    • 7). Slowly move the nozzle along the crack, filling it half full of the foam insulation. The foam will continue to expand, filling the crack completely.

    • 8). Let the foam cure for the length of time recommended on the can.

    • 9). Spray additional foam into any remaining cracks.

    • 10

Stuff cured foam back into the crack if it extends past the edge of the area that was to be sealed.
