- 1). Pick a takeout box template. Find one online, print it on the cardstock and cut along the solid lines. You may also clean and flatten out a used takeout box. Place the cardstock on a flat surface and the takeout template on top. Trace around the template onto the cardstock and cut along the lines on the cardstock.
- 2). Use a ruler and pencil to mark the areas of the cardstock that will be folded. Use the dotted lines that will be on the printed template or the already marked folded areas on the used takeout box as guidelines.
- 3). Fold along the marked lines to create a sharp crease. Two of the sides should have flaps. Glue the flaps on each side together.
- 4). Take the wire and shape it. The longest part of the wire should be as long as the box. Bend the wire so that two sides bend down approximately 2 or 3 inches. The bigger the box is, the longer the sides should be. Bend the very ends of the wire 1 centimeter so they point toward one another.
- 5). Create a small hole on each side of the takeout box. Ideally, the holes should be on the sides with the glued flaps. Insert the 1 centimeter of wire into each side. Open the box and fold the wire so it will not slip out of the hole.
