How to Make Crepe Paper Rosette
- 1). Use scissors to cut a two inch by 20 inch strip of crepe paper. The grain should run the short length of the strip. If desired, use decorative scissors, such as scalloped scissors, to cut one of the long edges. If you choose to do this, it will the top edge of your strip. The color you choose is up to you.
- 2). Use your right hand to hold the left side of the strip with the top edge pointing up. Fold the crepe paper strip in a fan like pattern, holding the pleats on the short edge between your thumb and forefinger. As you continue to fold the pleats, the crepe paper will start to take on a circular shape. Continue to create pleats until you have a complete circle. Cut off and throw away any additional crepe paper.
- 3). Use a stapler to staple the center of your circle. Be careful when you are stapling to avoid crushing your work. Place second staple in the center so that the two staples form a "X". If you find that all the pleats are not holding, you can add another staple if needed.
- 4). Use scissors to cut a one a half inch by 15 inch strip of crepe paper in a second color. Trim the edge if you want with decorative scissors. Repeat steps two and three to create a second pleated circle.
- 5). Use a hot glue gun to attach the two circles together. Place a spot of glue on the middle of the big circle and place the smaller circle on top of it, making sure it is centered.
- 6). Cut a circle out of stock card that is smaller than the small circle. The size and color of the paper is up to you. Glue this circle with a dab of hot glue to the center of the smaller circle. You can use this circle to write on, if desired.
