- 1). Tap the "iTunes" icon on your phone's home screen. Select the "Music" icon on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen to find songs by "New Releases" or "Genre."
- 2). Search for a specific song by tapping the "Search" icon in the toolbar. Enter the name of the song or its artist in the search field at the top of the screen, and tap the magnifying glass.
- 3). Tap once on the title of a song to preview it. Purchase the song by tapping on the price icon, located immediately to the right of the title. Tap "Buy Now" and enter your Apple ID and password when prompted. The song automatically is saved to the iPod application on your iPhone.
- 4). Add songs from your computer hard drive by connecting your iPhone to your computer using the dock connector to USB cable that came with your iPhone. Open iTunes on your computer.
- 5). Click the "Music" tab in the iTunes sidebar to open your song library. Add a song to your iPhone by clicking on the song title and dragging it over to the image of your iPhone in the sidebar. The song is saved in the iPod application on your iPhone.
