How to Make Gray Wolf Earrings Using Seed Beads
- 1). Cut three-feet of beading thread. Fold a piece of masking tape around the middle of the thread. Thread one light gray bead onto the string (this is called stringing a bead), one dark gray bead, a second light gray bead and four dark gray beads.
- 2). Pass the thread back through the 6th and 5th beads that you threaded, in that order. Then pass the thread back through the 2nd, 3rd and 4th beads you strung. The resulting triangle will form one of the wolf's ears.
- 3). String beads in the following pattern: One dark gray, six light gray, one dark gray (these will form the first row of your wolf's head). Second row: one light gray, one gold, one light gray, one white, one light gray, one gold, one light gray. Third row: Six light gray. Fourth row: two light gray, one white, two light gray. Fifth row: One light gray, two white, one light gray. Sixth row: One light gray, one black, one light gray.
- 4). String one white bead. Fold masking tape around the thread after you've strung the last bead.
- 5). Remove the tape from the middle of the thread. String five transparent or silver beads and pass the thread back through the first light gray bead that you threaded. After doing so, you'll have made a circle.
- 6). String one dark gray, one light gray and four dark gray beads onto the other end of the thread from the one you were threading previously. Pass the end of the thread back through the 5th and 4th beads out of this new group of beads. Then pass the thread through the 1st, 2nd and 3rd beads in the new group (in that order), making a triangle as in step 2.
- 7). Pass the thread back through the first row, starting at the opposite end from the direction you strung it. Repeat steps for all the other rows.
- 8). String one white bead. Tie the ends of the thread together firmly and seal the knot with a dab of glue or varnish. Weave the ends back through two rows then snip off the excess thread.
- 9). Open a jump ring with your pliers and slip the jump ring through the circle of translucent beads. Slip the loop of the earwire onto the jump ring and close it. Make the second earring in exactly the same way.
