How to Grout Mosaic Porcelain Tile

    • 1). Put an inch or two of cold water in a bucket. Add an equal amount of grout powder.

    • 2). Use a drill and mixing bar to thoroughly mix the grout and water. Add more grout and water, alternately, to make enough to grout the tiled area. Adjust the amounts of water and powder as you mix to get it to the consistency of cake frosting.

    • 3). Allow the grout to ``slake'' (meld) in the bucket for about 10 minutes. Remix with the mixing bar.

    • 4). Spread the grout over the mosaic tile with a grout float, starting at the top of the area and working down. Force the grout into the spaces between tiles, scraping the long edge of the float across the tile face.

    • 5). Allow the grout to stand in the spaces for 10 minutes. Wipe up the excess grout with a damp sponge. Let it cure for 48 hours or more.
