    • 1). Copy the clips from your edited DVD to the hard drive on your computer. Choose a location that will be easy to find later, such as My Documents/ My Videos.

    • 2). Click on File/Import into Collections in Windows Movie Maker. The dialogue box will take you to My Videos by default. Selecting the video you copied from your DVD will insert it into the Windows Movie Maker Video Collection. Movie Maker automatically breaks it into logical scenes for you.

    • 3). Drag each of the scenes in the Collections window onto the storyboard line in the bottom window of the page. Put them in an order that makes sense to you. View them from beginning to end by pressing the "Play" button on the video viewer to the right.

    • 4). Delete shots you don't want from the storyboard line in the bottom window using the "Split" button of the video player: the icon is two movie frames separated by a dotted line. Your movie will automatically close up on either side of the deleted shot.

    • 5). Add music to your film by dragging it from the Collections window and dropping it onto the ''timeline'' beneath the video in the bottom window.

    • 6). Click on File/Save Movie File when you've got the film edited. This will create a new file for you to load onto a DVD.
