How to Design Applications for the iPhone
- 1). Research idea. Before you get into constructing your own App you should research the ones that are similar to what you want to create. Look at their strengths and weakness, and customer reviews. Write down absolutely everything you like, and everything you dislike about them, and what customers like and dislike.
- 2). Once you have a solid picture of what you like and don't like, and what customers like and don't like, it's time to get your plan together. Write out what you want your App to do, how you want it to look, and every variable you want to include. Have a clear picture of what you want it to be.
- 3). Research iPhone App development. You can read many books like "iPhone Application Development For Dummies" by Neal Goldstein or "Beginning iPhone 3 Development: Exploring the iPhone SDK" by Dave Mark. There is also podcasts on iTunes, created by Stanford University, on iPhone App development. These are free to watch and download.
- 4). Begin developing your iPhone App. Once you have a clear understanding of how the iPhone SDK works, you can begin to design your App. Be sure to work on it and try different variations to find out what works best for what you want to do.
- 5). Get opinions from other people. Before you send the app off to be reviewed by Apple, let some people you know with similar interests have a crack at it. This will allow you to find out what works, what mistakes you need to fix, and what people like and don't like about your specific product. Then you can refine it, and submit it to Apple, and allow them to put it for sale in the App Store.
