    • 1). Unscrew the existing shower head, turning it counterclockwise. If Teflon tape (a white-colored sealing tape) was used, remove all of the old tape.

    • 2). Wrap new Teflon tape around the threads on the shower extension tube.

    • 3). Thread the new shower head onto the end of the extension tube and tighten by hand. Then use a pair of channel lock pliers to tighten completely. Wrap a cloth rag around the connection so the pliers do not mar the finish on the shower head.

    • 4). Turn the water on and direct it through the new shower head to check for any leaks in the connection.
