Video: How to Do Speed Painting With Chocolate
Video Transcript
Hey guys. My name is Gene, and I'm a graphic designer and I'm an illustrator. I've been working in the field for about the last fifteen years. And one thing I've never ever done is painted with chocolate for a client. Sometimes I paint with chocolate for fun because who doesn't paint with chocolate for fun. But we're not going to talk about that right now. What we're going to talk about is we're going to talk about speed painting. Speed painting is something you can do really fast so that you can master what you're doing, you can master seeing something and then applying it to the page or if you need to meet a deadline or you need to do a couple of different explorations, for or five, you're going to do it really fast. But we're going to make it really interesting this time because we're going to speed paint with chocolate. So get a bunch of chocolate and let's speed everything up and paint with chocolate. Two things you need for speed painting with chocolate. You need chocolate and you need something to put it in, probably with a little bit of water. We're just going to dump some chocolate in there. I already have a little bit of water in there. We're going to mix it up and we're going to do it fast because we all know speed painting is about being fast. So here we go. I mean as you can see I got a little messy there. I just got a little bit excited because I'm just painting with some chocolate. Bam! Bam! Bam! Painting has never been this exciting nor this tasty, whoosh, whoosh. You gotta do the sound effects too I find. Because without the sound effects, I mean really what's the point. Here we're just going to do one of these and really get in there with the chocolate. In fact I'm going to go straight and dump some more chocolate in here because this is a little too thin I think. Mix that up real quick. Boom, there we go. Now any of you borderlands fans already have an idea a little bit of what I'm speed painting here. This my friends is a chocolate claptrap. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better, because we're painting with some chocolate, all of a sudden, boom, chocolate claptrap. A little arm, bam! You could probably go a little bit thicker. There's a little claptrap wheel. You probably could go a little bit thicker with the chocolate but I like to go a little bit thin just because you can get some, some different textures here just by moving the brush. And you can see it'll bunch up in certain areas. There you go. That's all there is to it. Speed painting with chocolate, we got a chocolate claptrap. So as far as speed painting techniques go, that one's pretty cool because you're doing it with chocolate. I hope you guys had a lot of fun. It can get a little messy. But it can get really tasty. So we'll see you next time guys and thanks for watching.
