How to Make Glow-in-the-Dark Liquor Bottles
- 1). Rinse and clean the bottles you plan to use. If there is still alcohol in the bottle, seal the top carefully to avoid contamination.
- 2). Paint the bottles with glow-in-the-dark paint from your local hobby or craft shop.
- 3). Turn out the lights for the bottles to glow. Depending on the strength and quality of your paint, the bottles will glow for roughly an hour per half-hour of light exposure.
- 1). Empty, rinse and clean the bottles you plan to use.
- 2). Fill the bottle roughly one-third full with laundry detergent. Not all laundry detergent glows under black lights, so test your detergent against a black light first. Green liquids like Mountain Dew also work but provide less of a milky glow.
- 3). Cut the tips from several highlighters and dump their contents into the bottle. Make sure not to spill the highlighter fluid on the outside of the bottles--that would make it obvious how the liquids are glowing.
- 4). Fill the rest of the bottle with water.
- 5). Shake or stir the bottle thoroughly and test under a black light until desired effects are achieved. Add more highlighter ink for a more vigorous glow.
