How to Create Australian Shot Glasses

    • 1). Search magazines, paper goods and stationery for Australian-themed pictures. Look for maps, kangaroo, kiwi birds, the word "Australia" or "Aussie" or anything else that relates to the country. Make sure that the pictures are smaller than the front of a shot glass.

    • 2). Cut your pictures out, being careful to make the outlines sharp and precise. Do not leave any border or background color around the central image.

    • 3). Paint the front of a shot glass with a thin layer of decoupage medium. Make sure that the layer is smooth, without any lines or bubbles.

    • 4). Position the cut-out image gently on top of the decoupage medium. Move the image around until it is where you desire it to be on the finished glass. Smooth the paper carefully with the brush to ensure there are no bubbles or folds. Allow the medium to dry, which will take about 10 minutes.

    • 5). Paint a layer of decoupage medium over the image to seal it to the glass. Paint some onto the glass around the image, as well. This will help to seal in the edges of the paper. Allow this layer to dry completely.

    • 6). Paint another layer of decoupage medium over your Australian image, covering the edges to seal them thoroughly. Allow this layer to dry.

    • 7). Repeat these directions to complete a number of shot glasses to make a set for a gift or party.
