How to Build a Plastic Model Airplane
- 1
Remove the parts from the box and compare them to the direction sheet to ensure there are no missing pieces. - 2
Separate the pieces by color and paint. To make painting the smaller parts easier, leave them attached to the frames. The directions sheet should have painting instructions. - 3
Hold the wheels with a toothpick to paint them. - 4). Trim the pieces before gluing to remove the casting sprues. A small craft knife such as an X-Acto works well for this.
- 5). Assemble your model in the order called out in the direction sheet. Use the smallest amount of glue possible. The point of a round toothpick makes a good applicator. Use only a high quality model cement or crazy glue.
- 6
Finish your model by touching up areas where paint was not possible to apply before assembly. Apply decals and let dry.
