- 1). Cut all wood pieces to measurements.
- 2). Turn the table top upside-down. Find the wood pieces that are 1.5 inches x 4 inches and 16 inches long (the top rails). Place the rails on the underside of the table so that the rails are touching each other at each corner, forming a square that is centered on the tabletop.
- 3). Find the wood pieces that are 1 inch x 1 inch and 6 inches long (the fillets). Place the fillets next to the top rails, with each fillet lying next to the rail toward the center of the table. Center each fillet on each rail.
- 4). Pre-drill holes and use screws to attach the fillets to the tabletop.

- 6). Find the wood pieces that are 2 inches by 4 inches and 6 inches long with 45 degree-angled sides (the corner supports). Place each corner support in a corner inside of the top rails so that the angled sides are flat against the top rails.
- 7). Pre-drill holes and use screws to attach the corner supports to the top rails. Use four screws, one in each corner of the corner support piece. Attach the screws through the corner support piece and into the top rails.
- 8). Find the wood pieces that are 2 inches by 2 inches and 16 inches long (the table legs). Use the chisel to cut the sharp edge of the top of each leg off to create a flat edge on the corner of the leg. The chisel cut should be 2.5 inches long and 3/8 of an inch deep.
- 9). Place each leg on a corner of the table with the flat edge facing out. The inside edges of the leg should be flat against the ends of the top rails where they meet at the corner. Clamp the legs in place.

Drill a hole through the leg and the corner support. Repeat for each corner. - 11
Use bolts to attach the legs to the table. The heads of the bolts should rest on the chiseled flat edges of the legs, on the outside edge of the table. - 12
Stain, paint or varnish as desired.
