How to Use Nestabilities With the Original Sizzix Machine
- 1). Trim the material that you wish to cut to fit in the die cut machine. The Original Sizzix can accommodate material up to 6 inches by 8 inches.
- 2). Place the Sizzix System Converter into the machine. The System Converter is sold separately from the Sizzix machine and dies.
- 3). Create a sandwich with the die and cutting mats. Place the material you wish to cut on the Sizzix cutting pad. Place the Nestabilities die on top of the material with the cutting ridges facing down.
- 4). Place the Spellbinders White Spacing Plate on top of the die. The White Spacing pad is sold separately from the Sizzix machine.
- 5). Trim a piece of scrap card stock to 6 inches by 12 inches. Tri-fold the card stock, making it 4 inches by 6 inches. Place on top of the Spellbinders White Spacing Plate as a shim, ensuring that the sandwich will fit in the machine.
- 6). Push the sandwich through the machine. If the material you are cutting is thick, such as chipboard, you may need to run the sandwich through the machine several times before it makes a clean cut.
- 1). Die-cut the item using the die of your choice. Remove the card-stock shim and the White Spacer Plate.
- 2). Leave the die-cut item inside the Nestabilities die. Turn the die and the paper over on the Sizzix cutting pad so the cutting ridges are facing up.
- 3). Place the tan Spellbinders Embossing pad, sold separately, on top of the die. Replace the card-stock shim you used for die cutting.
- 4). Push the sandwich through the Sizzix machine. Remove the embossed die cut from the Nestabilities die.
