      Grants are available to individual artists and arts organizations that are dedicated to increasing artistic appreciation, spreading cultural awareness of the arts and transforming a creative vision into reality. There are grants to support every area of the arts, including dance, theater, visual arts, literary arts, art history and art education.

    Black Rock Arts Foundation Grants

    • The Black Rock Arts Foundation provides grants to individuals and organizations around the world to fund arts projects that reach out to the community as a whole. Grant awards for 2009 ranged from $1,000 to $7,500 and funded arts projects from New York to Moscow. Individual awards vary based on funding and the type of project involved, and the foundation specializes in funding projects that create an interactive relationship between artists and spectators.

    Arts Writers Grant Program

    National Endowment for the Arts Grant Program

    • The National Endowment for the Arts provides numerous grants to arts organizations as well as a limited number of grants to individual artists. Grants are available in a wide range of subjects, including arts education, dance, design, literary arts, folk arts, media arts, opera, music, theater and visual arts. Grant amounts may range from a few hundred dollars to hundreds of thousands of dollars, depending on the type of project involved.

    Graham Foundation Grants for the Arts

    • The Graham Foundation supports the arts through grants to individual artists and organizations to fund projects that will benefit the public at large and create a public discourse on the visual arts. Grants may be used to fund a wide range of projects, including installations, exhibitions, conferences, films and publications. Individuals may receive grants of up to $20,000, while organizations may receive a maximum of $30,000.

    Guggenheim Foundation Artist Fellowships

    • The Guggenheim Foundation provides artist fellowship grants to individual artists working in the performing, literary, visual or film arts.
