How to Download Music to an iPod Touch

    Using iTunes

    • 1). Add music to your iTunes account. Open iTunes and click "File." Choose the "Add Folder to Library" option, then search for the folder that contains the music on your computer. Select the folder and click "OK" to add the music files to iTunes.

    • 2). Connect your iPod Touch to your computer.

    • 3). Click on the "Music" option found underneath "Library." The albums in iTunes will be listed in the middle of the program.

    • 4). Open the album that contains the music you wish to add to the iPod Touch. Songs on that album will appear.

    • 5). Drag the songs over to the iPod Touch listed underneath "Devices." Do this for every song you want to add to the iPod Touch. Disconnect the iPod Touch when you're done.

    Adding Songs Via the iPod Touch

    • 1). Turn on the iPod Touch.

    • 2). Press the "iTunes Button."

    • 3). Press the "Search" option at the bottom of the iPod Touch screen.

    • 4). Type in the name of the album you want to download onto the iPod Touch in the text box at the top of the screen, then select the "Search" button. The album will appear in the middle of the screen if it is available on iTunes.

    • 5). Open the album, and a list of songs will appear. Press the "Buy" button at the top of the album, or press the button to the far right of one of the songs if you only wish to download one song. The box will turn green. Press the box one more time to purchase (or download if the music is free) the file. The iPod Touch will then download the music.
