How to Troubleshoot iTouch Not Connecting to WiFi

    • 1). Turn on your Wi-Fi. In order to access an available Wi-Fi network, you must ensure that your Wi-Fi is not turned off. Tap your gray "Settings" icon on your Home screen, tap the "Wi-Fi" tab and observe the "On/Off" switch appearing beside the word "Wi-Fi." If the switch reads "Off," tap it once to turn it on.

    • 2). Tap the name of an available network and enter a password. If open networks (those not password-protected) are available, your iPod Touch will try to access them automatically, but if all available networks require a password, you will need to select your network from the list directly beneath the "On/Off" switch, then enter your password when the pop-up window appears.

    • 3). Move closer to the router or base station supplying the Wi-Fi signal. If your iPod Touch is outside of the signal range, it will not have the ability to access the wireless signal.

    • 4). Check your home modem or router. If using a home Wi-Fi signal, try accessing the signal on another computer or laptop to find out if the problem is related to an Internet outage. If you find that the problem affects other machines as well, try resetting your modem or router.

    • 5). Reset your iPod Touch by holding down the "Sleep" button (along the top of your device) and your "Home" button (beneath the screen) simultaneously until the screen resets, revealing the Apple logo. If your iTouch simply refuses to accept a Wi-Fi signal despite all of your efforts, it may simply require a reboot.
