How to Make a House for a Raccoon
- 1). Draw three 10-inch lines with a ruler and pencil to make a square on the bottom of one piece of wood.
- 2). Follow the pencil lines you created with a hand saw to create an opening for the raccoon.
- 3). Nail together all six pieces of wood to create a box. Use at least four nails per joint to secure the structure.
- 4). Place an old blanket in the bottom of the box. This will comfort the raccoon and provide extra warmth if needed.
- 5). Position the box in a shaded area, preferably near a water and food source. A wooded area would most resemble the raccoon's natural habitat.
- 6). Leave a trail of dry dog food leading out to the raccoon house to entice the critter into its new home.
