Instructions

1

Measure out the dimensions for the plexiglass. Make pencil marks on the plexiglass where you need to make the cuts.
2

Line the pencil marks with masking tape. Keep the tape as straight as possible. This will help you keep a straight cut by following the edge of the masking tape.
3

Attach the blade to the scroll or table saw. Choose a blade that does not have a lot of teeth. The fewer teeth the blade has, the less chance you have of melting and chipping the plexiglass.
4

Fill a spray bottle with cold water. Spray the edge of the saw blade with the water. This helps decrease the temperature as you make your cut, decreasing the chances of melting the plexiglass.
5

Put on the protective gloves and goggles.
6

Turn the saw on and slowly start to make your cut. Move slowly down the plexiglass, following the line of masking tape. If you are making a long cut, you may need to stop periodically and spray your blade with more water.
7

Turn off the saw and remove the masking tape from the edge of the plexiglass. With your gloved hand, brush any shavings off of the side of the plexiglass.
8

Sand the edge of the plexiglass. This will leave you with a smooth edge and will help get rid of any nicks or cracks that were made on the side.
