    • 1). Leave the iPod turned off.

    • 2). Place the device face down in a warm, dry location, such as a car's dashboard or under a light bulb. If the iPod becomes hot to the touch, remove it from the heat source immediately. The intent is to warm the iPod; overheating it can cause more damage.

    • 3). Leave the iPod turned off for at least 12 hours. Powering on the iPod too soon risks permanent damage.

    • 4). After 12 hours of drying, shake the iPod and listen for evidence of water or moisture. Do not turn the iPod on until you are convinced all water and moisture are gone.

    • 5). Turn on the iPod.
