How to Activate an AVG 9 Free Resident Shield

1). Right-click the red, yellow, blue and green "AVG" icon in the notification tray and click "Open AVG User Interface" to view the program's components. Double-click the "Resident Shield" icon near the bottom of the list of components.
2). Click the box next to "Resident Shield Active" under "Resident Shield Settings." Click "Remove All Threats Automatically" if you want the Resident Shield to take care of problems automatically. Click "Ask Me Before Removing Threats" if you wish to receive a prompt whenever the component detects a threat.
3). Click "Save Changes" and type your administrator password if prompted. The Resident Shield component will then appear as "Active" on the components list.
