    • 1). Power on your Windows Media Center Extender. Make sure it is connected to the home network. Press the "Start" button on the device itself or remote to begin the Extender setup. If your extender does not have a Windows Start button, refer to the device's user manual on how to launch the Extender setup.

    • 2). Copy down the eight-digit Windows Media Extender Key displayed on the Windows Media Center Extender device.

    • 3). Power on the Windows Vista computer and, again, make sure it is connected to the home network. Launch Windows Media Center.

    • 4). Navigate to "Tasks" > "Add Extender" within Windows Media Center. Select "Next" at the "Setup" screen.

    • 5). Enter the eight-digit Windows Media Center Setup Key, as written down in Step 2. Select "Next." Follow the on-screen instructions. Select "Finish" to complete. The Windows Media Center interface will now appear on the Extender device and you can navigate and wirelessly playback media on the Windows Vista PC.
