Windows XP Repair Tutorial
- 1). Put your Windows XP CD into your computer and restart the computer. As the initial boot screen appears, press the key listed on the screen as the "Boot Menu" key.
- 2). Choose to boot from the optical drive on the computer and then press any key when prompted to do so. Wait for the "Welcome to Windows XP Setup" screen to appear and press "Enter."
- 3). Press the "F8" key to agree to the license agreement and then use your arrow keys to highlight the installation of Windows XP that you want to repair.
- 4). Press "R" and the repair installation starts. This takes about 45 minutes to finish, roughly the same amount of time as a normal Windows installation. When it finishes you'll be able to log in to your computer with your normal credentials.
