- 1). Start your machine and run the "System Setup Program" by pressing "F2" when "<F2> = System Setup" appears during the initial boot process. If you miss the prompt to run the program, you will need to allow the system to complete the booting process, then restart and try again.
- 2). Use the arrows on your keyboard to navigate through the menu options in the "Main Setup Screen." Up and down arrows will cycle between options, and right and left arrows will cycle between the choices for each option. "Enter" will allow you to select an option to display additional menu choices. Hitting "Esc" exits the setup program, and "F1" will display a setup help file. These options will be listed at the bottom of the screen as well.
- 3). Create a system password by navigating to the "System Security" option and hitting "Enter." Verify that the "System Password" is set to "Unlocked" and press "Enter" to create a new password of up to 32 characters. Press "Enter" when finished, reconfirm your password by retyping it and press "Enter" again.
- 4). Select "Esc" to prompt the "Exit Screen," select "Save Changes and Exit" and reboot your system for the changes to take effect.
