- Finding combinations of three or more gems is the key to solving puzzles. Learn to look for pairs of gems, either together or separated by only one other gem. You are not penalized for grabbing and attempting to drag gems to quickly find combinations, so try this if you are stuck and unable to find needed gems. Sometimes you may not see a combination until you have dragged a piece of it. When you find pairs of gems, there usually will be a third nearby. Also, watch for combinations that create others when removed. This is the key to bonus points.
- Unlike similar puzzle games, "Jewel of Atlantis" lets you pause the game to think about your next move. Press the space bar to pause as you attempt to locate the next potential combination. Look for pieces that can be slid and not only create one combination, but also set up a new series of falls that can result in multiple combos. Even at higher difficult settings, the timer is slow enough that you will rarely run out of time. Watch for shortcuts as you search for the next block that can detonate an area or solve your quest. Sometimes the piece you need is only one or two combinations away.

Finding all of these unlockables and earning 100 percent completion can be very difficult. You must defeat all of the quests and perform extremely well in arcade mode. The developers have stated on their forums that reaching Emperor rating on arcade games requires beating each of them in 20 percent to 30 percent of the allotted time. Use the pause button and careful planning to solve these puzzles. Always watch your timer when you are playing either mode, as quicker wins will result in more unlockables becoming available.
