- 1). Measure the size of your attic door. Draw the measurements onto a piece of foam board insulation and cut out the shape with a utility knife.
- 2). Push the piece of foam insulation into place on your attic door, so it fits securely.
- 3). Hold a nail up to one of the top corners and hammer it into place. Install additional nails in each of the four corners, passing through the foam insulation into the door beneath. Place several nails around the perimeter until the insulation is securely attached.
