How to Make Tithing Envelopes
- 1). Create an envelope pattern in your image editor using line tools. This will consist of a rectangle 5 inches wide and 8 inches tall (to be folded in half to form an envelope half this height). Atop that, draw an equilateral triangle 5 inches wide and 2 inches to its center point. Make the lines around the outside of this shape as thin as possible, then erase the lines inside the shape.
- 2). Decorate the envelope. Place designs on the upper half of the bottom rectangle, below the triangle tip. Include any small clip art images you might want (such as a dove, a cross, praying hands or flowers) or type out a scriptural passage related to tithing or generosity. You also might include some blank lines for writing if you think members of your congregation (or those processing the envelopes in the office) may need to write something there.
- 3). Print as many copies of the envelope as you want. If possible, set up your page layout to print more than one pattern on each page to save paper.
- 4). Cut out the envelope patterns using a paper cutter.
- 5). Assemble each envelope. Use the glue stick on the right and left edges of the side of the paper that has no printing. Fold the bottom of the envelope up until it meets the bottom of the triangle forming the upper flap. Line up the edges and press a crease into the bottom of the envelope.
- 6). Apply lickable glue to the top flap of each envelope. Let dry before folding the flap down.
