- 1). Open iTunes. Plug your iPod into the computer. A window will pop up once the device loads. Click the "X" in that window to close the window.
- 2). Click on the name of the iPod that is on the right side of iTunes, beneath the Devices option.
- 3). Select the "Summary" tab located at the top of iTunes. When you do, several different options will appear in the center of the program. Put a check mark in the "Manually Manage Music and Videos" box by clicking that box.
- 4). Click the "Apply" button found at the bottom of iTunes. Once you do this, you can upload the iPod onto any computer without the songs being deleted from the iPod.
