How to Make a Scarf With a Knit-Wit Tool
- 1). Turn the knob on the stem of the tool to make the prongs extend.
- 2). Hold the tool by the stem so the square shape looks like a diamond. Imagine a clock face with the 12 prongs making up the hours of the clock, the 12 o'clock prong at the top and 6 o'clock prong at the bottom. Leave a 2-inch tail of yarn extending out from the tool at the 6 o'clock prong and pull the yarn straight up to the 12 o'clock prong.
- 3). Wrap the yarn around the 12 o'clock prong from the left side to the right side and bring it straight back down to the 6 o'clock prong. Wrap the yarn around this prong from the right side to the left side and pull it back up to the 1 o'clock prong, wrapping the yarn from left to right.
- 4). Continue wrapping the yarn around the tool working clockwise until you come back around to the 12 o'clock prong again.
- 5). Wrap the yarn around each prong a second time, completing the wrapping process exactly the same as the first time.
- 6). Measure a 30-inch length of yarn extending off the Knit-Wit tool and cut the yarn off at this point.
- 7). Thread the yarn through the yarn needle.
- 8). Hold the yarn tightly to the tool where you finished the final wrap around the prong so it will not unwind.
- 9). Insert the needle into the center of the rosette under the yarn and poke the needle back out again between the 12 o'clock and 11 o'clock prongs. Insert the needle back into the center and poke it back out between the 11 o'clock and 10 o'clock prongs.

Work your way around the entire rosette, stitching each petal until you come around to between 11 o'clock and 12 o'clock again. Leave the yarn loop loose this time, insert the needle through the loop and pull tight to lock the yarn. Clip the excess yarn. - 11
Turn the stem of the tool to retract the prongs and remove the rosette. - 1). Make 60 rosettes.
- 2). Thread the yarn needle with a 30-inch length of yarn to start. You will need additional lengths of yarn as you stitch the rosettes together.
- 3). Sew the rosettes together in rows of three. Line the three rosettes up in a row and stitch the first two rosettes together along the right side of the first rosette and the left side of the second rosette. Take small overhand stitches with the yarn needle and tie the yarn off in a knot when you finish. Cut the yarn off and stitch the second rosette to the third rosette in the same fashion.
- 4). Sew the rows of three together to make the scarf. Take small overhand stitches along each row in the same fashion as you sewed the single rosettes together.
