How to Make a Paper Pyramid Template
- 1). Draw a perfect square near the center of the piece of cardboard. It can be as large or as small as you like, depending on your use. Five square feet works for a playhouse, while 6 square inches works well for smaller boxes and projects.
- 2). Make a small dot in the center of each side of your square. Draw a line straight out from each dot, away from the square. The line should measure half the width of the square. For instance, if your square is 6 inches wide, make each line 3 inches long.
- 3). Draw a line on either side of the tip of each center line to the corners of the squares. This should create one equilateral triangle on each side of the square, or four equilateral triangles total.
- 4). Sketch a thin rectangle on the left side of the uppermost triangle. This will serve as a glue tab to help hold the pyramid together. Turn the cardboard 90 degrees and do the same with each triangle so that they all have glue tabs on the left side.
- 5). Trace the outline of your pyramid template with permanent marker to make your lines stand out.
- 6). Cut along the perimeter of the marker lines with sharp scissors and store your template flat.
