How to Make a Raggedy Edge Quilt
- 1). Measure and cut a 5-inch square of cardboard for a template. Use the fabric pencil to trace around the template on the denim and flannel fabrics. Cut out 64 squares with the scissors.
- 2). Stack one denim and flannel square on a flat surface, with the good sides of the fabric facing outward. Draw an "X" from corner to corner on the denim square with the fabric square.
- 3). Sew through the "X" with the sewing machine or needle and thread. Repeat, to make 32 denim and flannel squares.
- 4). Pin one denim and flannel square together at one edge, with the flannel sides facing out. Sew a 1-inch straight seam to connect the squares. The raggedly edge will be on the denim side of the connected squares. Remove the pins and iron the seam flat on the flannel side.
- 5). Sew all flannel and denim squares into pairs and then four-squares by connecting the pairs with the same method. Connect the fours-squares to create finished 64-square raggedy edge quilt.
