How to Fix an iPod That Got Wet
- 1). Retrieve the iPod from the water and turn it off immediately. Electrical damage is less likely to occur if the power is off.
- 2). Soak up excess moisture with a dry towel. Then, spray out the connection ports with a can of compressed air.
- 3). Place the iPod in a medium-sized bowl and cover it with uncooked rice.
- 4). Put the bowl near a heat source such as a heater or a heat vent.
- 5). Wait at least 48 hours before attempting to turn on the iPod.
- 6). Remove the iPod from the bowl and wipe off any rice residue with a clean, dry cloth.
- 7). Press the "Power" button and your iPod will turn on if it was not damaged by the submersion. If it does not turn on, connect it to a charger to make sure the battery is not dead. If that does not work, you may need to have the iPod replaced or repaired.
