- 1). Install the Windows software in question.
- 2). Log on to Genuine Microsoft Software (see Resources).
- 3). In the blue box marked "Validate Now," click on "Validate Windows."
- 4). Download and install the Genuine Microsoft Validation ActiveX control when prompted.
- 5). After the validation process, the result screen will open. If the screen says "Validation Successful," you have authentic Microsoft software. If it does not, Microsoft will prompt you on your next course of action.
