    Reregister

    • 1). Restart the computer in safe mode by clicking "Start" on the desktop, followed by "Shut Down," then "Restart." Press "OK."

    • 2). Press the "F8" key before the Windows splash screen appears. Select "Safe Mode" on the Windows Advanced Options menu. Click "Enter."

    • 3). Log on to the computer using your Windows password. Click "Start" on the desktop, then "Run." Type "msiexec /regserver," and click "OK."

    • 4). Restart the computer again in normal mode by clicking "Start" on the desktop, followed by "Shut Down." Select "Restart," and press "OK."

    Reinstall

    • 1). Click "Start" on the desktop, then "Run." Type "cmd," and click "OK."

    • 2). Type the following commands, pressing "Enter" after each one: "cd %windir%\system32," "attrib -r -s -h dllcache," "ren msi.dll msi.old," "ren msiexec.exe msiexec.old," "ren msihnd.dll msihnd.old."

    • 3). Type "exit," then press "Enter." Repeat at the command prompt. Restart the computer by clicking "Start" on the desktop, followed by "Shut Down." Select "Restart," and press "OK."

    • 4). Log onto your computer using your Windows password. Download and install the latest version of the Windows Installer from Microsoft Support. You can find a link to Microsoft Support in the Resources section below.

    • 5). Restart the computer again by clicking "Start" on the desktop, followed by "Shut Down." Select "Restart," and press "OK."
