How to Fix NTLDR Not Found on XP
- 1). Insert the CD or DVD into the drive and reboot the machine. When you're prompted, press any key to boot into the installation menu.
- 2). Press R" on the keyboard to choose the repair console. Press "1." This action prompts you for the administrator password.
- 3). Enter your administrator password. This password was created when you installed windows. Press "Enter." You will see the command prompt, usually "C:>."
- 4). Type "copy d:\i386\ntldr c:\" into the command prompt. Replace the "d" with the drive letter for your CD or DVD drive if it is different. This copies the NTLDR file from the installation disk to the hard drive.
- 5). Remove the Windows installation disk from the drive and reboot your machine.
