- 1). Press the Windows logo key and "R" simultaneously.
- 2). Type "msconfig" without quotes and press "Enter."
- 3). Click the "Services" tab.
- 4). Check "Hide all Microsoft services."
- 5). Uncheck any services to be disabled. Good candidates are programs that are rarely used and software updaters.
- 6). Click the "Startup" tab.
- 7). Uncheck any unneeded programs, such as updaters.
- 8). Click "OK" and restart the computer.
