How to Use a Leather Creaser
- 1). Dampen the leather with a wet cotton cloth. Do not soak the leather; it should only be slightly moist to the touch.
- 2). Heat the metal end of the leather creaser over a small flame, such as from a lighter. Hold it in the flame for 30 seconds to ensure that it's completely heated.
- 3). Slide the edge of the leather that you wish to crease between the two prongs of the creaser. How far in the crease will appear will be determined by the size of the creaser.
- 4). Adjust the screw until the leather is secure and hold it until the desired impression is made. Since visual effects will vary by the type and width of the leather, experiment first on a scrap piece so you know for how long to compress the material.
