- 1). Measure around your man's neck and approximately how long you want the bolo tie to be. Use a 40-inch measurement if you are not sure of the length, and want to surprise him. Cut the leather or cording to the necessary measurements.
- 2). Lay the concho face down on your work surface. Glue the bolo slide to the back of the concho, centering it. Allow the glue to dry for overnight.
- 3). Slide the bolo onto the leather or cording.
- 4). Add the tips to either end of the leather or cording. Slip the tips on and use pliers to crimp the tips and secure them into place.
- 5). Wear the bolo tie by sliding the concho down to the ends of the cording and slip the cord around your neck. Slide the concho up to just under your collar or until it feels comfortable for you to wear without choking.
