    • 1). Open your Microsoft Notepad program. Click the "Start" button in the lower-left corner of your computer screen and select "All Programs," "Accessories" and then "Notepad" to launch the program.

    • 2). Enter the text you would like to write. Click "Edit" in the top menu for tools to help you edit the document once you have written it. Choices available include "Undo," "Cut," "Copy," "Paste," "Delete," "Find," "Find Next", "Replace," "Go to" and "Select All." Also, you can select "Time/Date" to insert a time date stamp into your document (4:30 PM 4/1/2011).

    • 3). Click "Format" in the top menu to wrap the text to the Notepad window. Also, select "Font" in the "Format" menu to open the "Font" dialog window and select a font, font style and font size. Click "OK" when you finish.

    • 4). Change the page setup before printing a document by selecting "File" from the top menu, then "Page Setup" to open the "Page Setup" dialog box. Follow the on-screen instructions to make adjustments to your page setup and click the "OK" button at the bottom of the "Page Setup" dialog box to close the dialog box and apply the settings.

    • 5). Print a Notepad document by selecting "File" from the top menu, then Print to open the "Print" dialog box. Click the "Print" button at the bottom of the "Print" dialog box to print the document and close the dialog box.
