- 1). Download a registry-cleaning program. There are a number of free programs, such as CCleaner, RegSeeker and Eusing Free Registry Cleaner (see Resources section).
- 2). Install the software and allow it to update any definitions if the program prompts for an update.
- 3). Launch the program and run a registry scan. This scan will find issues such as unused file extensions, obsolete entries from old software and corrupted registry keys.
- 4). Choose which registry issues you wish to change from the list and allow the program to fix the issues. If it has found a corruption in the csrss registry entry, it will fix this along with the other issues.
- 5). Reboot your computer for all changes to take place.
