How to Silver Solder a Sight Blade
- 1). Remove the sight from the gun. Place all of the parts of the gun on a clean, dry surface to ensure that they stay clean and that rust won't form.
- 2). Place the lower end of the gun's sight into a gun vice and tighten the vice. Plug the soldering iron into an outlet and allow it to warm up.
- 3). Place a piece of solder the length of the sight onto the broken top of the sight that is in the vice. Melt the solder using the soldering iron. Quickly place the top piece of the sight onto the lower piece of the sight .
- 4). Allow the solder to dry completely. Grind the sides of the sight using a grinder to smooth out the solder and make the sight flush.
