    • 1). Unload the firearm and open the action. Ensure there are no live rounds in the chamber.

    • 2). Walk down to the backstop and set up your target.

    • 3). Use the measuring tape and place the tripod approximately 10 feet down-range from the firing line. Install the chronograph onto the tripod.

    • 4). Align the chronograph so it's pointed down-range, and the screens are in line with the direction in which you'll be shooting. Raise or lower the tripod height as necessary to be able to comfortably shoot through the screens. Turn the unit on.

    • 5). Walk back to the firing line, load the firearm and fire at your target, making sure the bullet passes through both sets of screens.

    • 6). Unload the firearm and walk back to the chronograph. The velocity will be displayed on the screen.
