How to Grind an Oland Cutting Tool

1). Set the grinder tool rest to a 45-degree angle to the fine grit wheel's face. Use a protractor to measure the angle. Adjust the tool rest for a minimum gap between the wheel and tool rest.
2). Remove the Oland tool's bit by loosening the set screws. Use a hex wrench, and pull the bit straight out.
3). Turn on the grinder. Place the Oland bit flat on the fine grit wheel's grinder tool rest.
4). Advance the bit into the wheel.
5). Round the edges off the bit's sides by swinging the bit side to side while you grind the face. Continue until the profile of the bit is round.
6). Insert the bit back into the handle. Tighten the set screws holding the bit.
