- 1). Connect the cable modem to the cable wall outlet via coax cable. Connect your (powered off) computer to the cable modem via Ethernet cable.
- 2). Plug in the cable modem's AC adapter. Turn on the computer.
- 3). Open a web browser. You will be taken the Comcast activation landing page. From this page, follow the directions to download the Comcast software. Save the software to your desktop.
- 4). Double-click the downloaded file to launch the Comcast software installer.
- 5). Enter in your account details as prompted. Follow the on-screen instructions, give answers to the questions as prompted. Accept the license agreement when prompted. Set up a user name and password for your Comcast account. This will serve as your @comcast.net email address as well your log-in information for Comcast.com.
- 6). Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete installation. Restart the computer when the installation completes. When the computer restarts, you should be able to connect to the Internet as normal.
